My Why

Welcome to my first blog post!
My why is very simple ... to me at least. Pain has taught me compassion, given me a heart of service, it birthed purpose and identity and above all else - my valley experiences have allowed me to seek and experience God in a way I never have before. I met Jesus in the valley, in the wilderness I experienced His grace and He gave meaning to my struggle. Now I help others do the same.
Nothing wasted - that is how I now view every experience in my life, even if at the time I cannot wrap my head around it or understand why it is happening. It doesn't mean I don't have questions, - but above all else that is my testimony and what wisdom has taught me. In every situation, if we can take a step back and see it from outside of ourselves - there is something being worked in us and our lives that we can always learn from - adversity, loss etc builds us - even if we feel we are being broken. Something is being broken, but not the core of who you are, the one thing that is torn away, can and will be replaced by something bigger and better if we allow the space for God to move in the midst of our brokenness.
What was meant for evil - to destroy you - will be used for your good if you can submit it to God. That is where God met me: Where purpose was birthed - Isaiah 61: 1-3
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,]
2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendour.
